The House
A family home since 1274
The house at Elmore Court dates back to around 1580. But the Guises have been living on this spot since the Middle Ages. It’s been family home, first and foremost, for over 750 years.
The house itself is a wonderfully eclectic mix of architectural styles, from Elizabethan to Victorian. Over the years, the majority of the building alterations have been designed to enhance entertainment potential. It’s a tradition we’re observing today, as we continue to make improvements to ensure Elmore Court is the best it can be.
Designated a party pad by Sir Berkeley Guise in 1794, the house has always been the perfect venue for revelry, festivities and fun. With its many historical rooms, corridors, nooks and staircases, it’s a wonderful place to explore and make your own for a few days.

The Main Hall
The Hall is the historic centrepiece of Elmore Court, where grand celebrations, wedding ceremonies and special gatherings come to life. Light streams through the heraldic stained-glass mullioned windows, creating a kaleidoscope of colour that enhances the room’s historic charm. Ideal for luxury festivities and events, the Hall is an unforgettable setting for magical and memorable moments.
The Drawing Room
Adjoining the Hall, the Drawing Room exudes comfort and elegance. A generous fireplace creates warmth and intimacy during winter events, while in summer the sash windows fill the room with natural light and welcome breezes. The room’s versatile design makes it perfect for cocktail receptions, intimate wedding gatherings or celebratory occasions.
The Dining Room
Steeped in history, its walls adorned with ancestral portraits, the Dining Room is the heart and soul of the Elmore Court dining experience. Whether hosting a wedding breakfast, private dinner or seasonal feast, the room’s classic architecture and warm ambience provide a sophisticated backdrop for luxury shared meals and festivities.
The Morning Room
On the east side of the house, overlooking the gardens and the East Lawn, the Morning Room offers a tranquil retreat for quiet moments or pre-event gatherings. It provides a serene, light-filled space ideal for sitting with friends, enjoying morning coffee or preparing for a wedding ceremony. The combination of historic charm and functional elegance makes this room a favourite for both guests and hosts.
